interior of a car, creating a whole living environment. The VOC test was
developed to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), which may be
produced by the materials used. VOC's produced inside a
car are a primary cause of the so-called Sick House Syndrome negatively
affecting the interior air quality. Although testing can be
performed on the individual parts, complete vehicle testing is far more
effective. This approach allows the components under investigation, such
as interior panels, to be tested in the actual environment under simulated
environmental conditions. Car manufacturers have set the
maximum limit for VOC levels and are working to reduce it. This large-capacity test chamber
can accommodate a full size passenger car. The test chamber provides
a quality testing environment, properly controlling the elements
such as light, temperature, humidity and air flow which critically
impact the reliability of the VOC test data. EYE / Iwasaki

requirements. The solar system radiation intensity is computer
controlled and pre-assigned groups of lamps can be turned on/off to

requirements of the EPA SC03 standard for spectral energy distribution. Unlike
halogen filament based heat lamps, application specific metal halide
lamp technology simulates the actual sunlight environment. The insolation can be set and
controlled between 600 and 1,200W/m2. The insolation uniformity ratio
fully meets the EPA standard of ±15%.
